far flung Cal alumni

I'm not a person who has a very strong connection to the university that I went to, except for the strong friendships that I made while there. Nevertheless, it was kind of cool and funny to be driving down the street here and see a Honda SUV in front of me with a "Cal" sticker on the back window. Cool to be so far away from California and see someone else who went to Berkeley. Funny because I'm sure that nobody in Buenos Aires knows what that sticker refers to. I explained to Susana that UC Berkeley is called "California" or "Cal" because it was the first university of the UC system.

On a related note, it's very cool to be driving in Buenos Aires. As an LA native you know I just love to drive. And it feels good to be more comfortable now in the semi-organized chaos that is Buenos Aires traffic. I just have to remember that you can't make a right turn at a red light!
